Default b18b1 and a1

im geting a b18b1 head from a buddy of mine but... which is which?
my question for this post is... he gots 2 b18 heads and idk which one is the a1 and the b1 can anyone give me hints on how to tell the difference? i prefer to get the b1 for my ls

The year is stamped on the head right under the valve cover it will have a 9 then a line through the middle and another number. Pick the one with the newer year

k sweet i been looking online to tell the difference.... and.... im pretty sure the yellow one is a b1

i think i'm gonna have to say the yellow one is the b18a1. that's the exact same style my old 92 teg had.

ok im gnna post one more time before i go to sleep.....

i been hearing that their was the ls that were obd 1 and 2

and from the last reserach i been doing the yellow one is from the obd 1 92-93 integra... while the blue one is soupposivily souppose to be the obd 2 head... idk....

i heard it doesnt matter because its the dizzy i would need to add.... since im geting the b18b1 whole swap with dizzy and blown head....

info on car... 94 civic hatch wit obd1 harness, and p28 ecu....

please give me info as much as possible so i can get ready to do this swap without problems...

would my stock mounts work? would i have to change linkage cable?
tell ME the best way to tell the head if its a1 or b1...
just tell me the most info you guys can give me
much apperciated

Look for the head codes. On the blue one, look between the 1st and 2nd exhaust holes for it. If it's from a 90-91 LS, it'll say PR4, if it's from a 92-93 LS it'll say P74 and if it's from a 94-00 LS it'll say P75. This is my old motor from my 92 LS. The valve cover matches the yellow one exactly, which is why I say the yellow one is the B18A1, head code P74.
