Default B18B w/ Engine, tranny, old air intake, and headers

Is this engine and accesories worth $1500. Or should I talk my friend down to 1000. I dont know the milage on the engine. But, I'll find that out tomorrow at school. But, generally do you guys think its worth it.

The car i am gonna out this in is an EG coupe or hatch. havent decided which one to get. I'll get which ever one my parents and I find first tht has 5spd and sunroof, for less than $2000.

thanks for any suggestions.

hmm...it really depends. is the motor a b18a or b18b? Mileage? Was it driven hard? Does it blow smoke?

If the motor is a b18a i would say that its a bit too old for my taste. But if its a b18b and has relatively reasonable mileage i would say go for it...try to snag the ecu, harness, and axles if they're available. Good luck with your project bro

headers? I didn't know you had a V8! j/k

Depending on the milage and wear of the engine, I'd do it

Its from an DA(90-94) integra soo that is a B18A right. and we race his car. but, there is nothing wrong with his car. he take great care of it. oil changes normally. and, ive given him lots of money in gas. soo i know for a fact his uses supreme gas.

First.. DA's are 90-93. 94-01 was a DC. So not only is it a B18A, it also has a cable operated transmission, which won't work in any 92+ Civic without an adapter. Cable transmissions are getting extremely hard to come by - both parts and as whole units. If it's a 90-91, you'll also need to find a set of 92+ injectors and a 92+ distributor.

Running supreme is way overkill on a stock engine unless the mfg specifically calls for it. You actually lose power by running supreme - higher octane = slower burn.

Finally, I would never, never buy an engine that I knew had been raced. Period. Nor would I buy an engine that's at least 13 years old at the very least. Even if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't be paying $1500 for the complete swap - you could get a B18B swap, complete with a hydro tranny, axles, and ECU, for less.
