Re: b18b VS b20 (rdcpinoy17)
B18B
This is the motor in the non Type-R and non GSR Integra.
Pros
Good torque for a 1.8L (127 ft/lbs)
Inexpensive (even cheaper than a B16)
142 hp (more than any stock D series)
Boost heads love them
Cons
No VTEC
Longest B series transmission
B20
Pros
Great torque (133 ft/lbs)
good boost motors
inexpensive
B20z=146hp
Cons
Thin cylinder walls
Have to peice together a swap for a Civic (can't drop it in with a B20 tranny)
Won't pass BAR (light truck motor in a car)
Low hp in the B20b(126 hp)

Re: (gsp b20vteCoupe)
Main difference is the sleeves..B20b/z motors have the unisleeve design which makes it alittle weaker then the rest of the b-series..It has 84mm bore compared to 81mm..Some of the b20 motor have valves as big as the dohc vtec versions..intake manifold is taller in the B20 then the B18..B20 has shittier cams the the B18..In cali you cant swap in a B20 and ever make it legal because its a truck motor..THere some other differences..

Its not really way better..The B20 is a strong motor,,just not as strong as the B18..But its only gonna break if run a turbo with alot of boost and/or rev to high..But Ill tell you the B20 Torque in a 92 hatch is great..I rode in a 1700 lb crx with a stock B20b with ls cams and intake manifold and its way better the B18a/b..If I planned to go turbo or rev really high though I would go B18a/b route anyday
