Icon3 b18b ticking noise coming form fuel rail, and a weird grinding coming from cam gears?

hello all,

to keep another long story short,
i have a 93 civic cx with a 96 ls swap. about a week ago she clunked out on me. im still trying to figure out wahts wrong.

the problems:
-if i dont keep on the gas, the car just dies.
-a ticking noise coming from what sounds like the fuel rail/FPR
-if im up close to the cam gears, they sound like they are grindiong against metal?? idk how else to explain it.
-and then theres another rubbing sound coming form like right inside the valvecover.

the soultions:
-so far ive replaced the spark plugs, changed the oil, and changed the fuel filter.

some other info:
-if i detach a vaccuum line (causing a leak) she idles at around 800-1000 rpm
-sometimes when im sitting there on the gas, it would like sputter i guess.
- if i rev up to like 2000 or 3000 you can hear the exhaust backfiring
-the second day after this happened i was sitting in it idling at 1000 and the dash like clicked twice.

ive asked around someone said it might be timing, the distributor cap and rotor, fuel pump, a vaccuum leak, the catalytic converter being relaly clogged.

last time this happened 3 moths ago. took her out and romped the **** out of her. worked perfect up until about 5 days ago.

what could it be? im open to every piece of info guys; its my daily and i cant miss much more of work.

omg finally...how do you test the coil? and would it really be dying like tha? if i odnt kep on the gas? becasue of the coil?

and i was thinking going msd dcap, rotor, and external coil....would that suffice or would i need to actually replace the dizzy?
