Re: b18b swap done,not much acceleration?? (1.8-of-all-motor)
i got a b18b in my 90 civic and all i do in first and second is roast tires you check all the wires on the dizzy does it feel like it bogs then suddenly picks up at higher rpms? it could possibly be a timing issue too check all that just to be safe

Most likely it's the chipped ECU. I don't know why people do this crap. It's like cutting your springs.
Second thing I would suspect is the cam timing. Could be ignition timing, but unless it's WAY off, it wont make a big difference.

Re: b18b swap done,not much acceleration?? (1.8-of-all-motor)
it might be the timing..because when i turn it on it idles until i rev it.and then it is reved 15k rpm..warmed up!but it also seems like the fuel cuts off does anybody think it might also have to do with the fuel pump?

HOLY ****!!! 15,000 RPM'S???!!! WTF ARE YOU THINKING??????
J/K
Try timing like everyone is saying. Made a big difference on my gsr. When I got it, the timing was all the way retarded.

try also to make sure your dizzy is in the right spot cuz you do know how you can move it to adjust your timing that way right, if its in the wrong spot that could also affect the way the car acels too... but my car has a chipped ecu and its a lot better than a stock pr4.......

What size wheels are you running? Bigger/heavier wheels will slow you down. I have an ls in my hatch, I would never run bigger than 14s with that final. 14s and 13s do well with it. Maybe you need to check compression, bad rings would make you lose mad power esp on a low compression engine.

You're both dumbasses.
That's not the problem at all - the LS has great pickup with a shortened transmission. More than the B16 does, anyways.
HP = bragging rights
Torque = Win.
His problem is someplace else. Put down your hmotors stat book for one second and think with your head for a change.

First of all you guys with Hmotors prices and such didnt put everything into consideration. The LS is a complete change over for 2200 the GSR is motor, tranny, ecu. The gsr is missing shift linkage and motor mounts two things that will bring the price of that package up about 400-500 dollars. Therefore the difference between the ls and the gsr would be more like 1100 dollars instead of your posted 500 dollar difference. Anyways good luck with the problem 1.8 hopefully the problem lies within the conversion.
