B18B smokes... Help?
My ls was just rebuilt with all new oem parts before i dropped it into my ek. New piston rings, oil pump, water pump, timing belt, oil seals, new gaskets..the whole nine yards...
The car runs smooth but smokes (white). Obviously the motor has to broken in, but can that be the cause of the white smoke?
Btw... I'm using a b16 exhaust manifold on the motor for right now, can this cause it to smoke?
Thanx in advance...

Who rebuilt the engine? Did they know what they were doing?
White smoke is coolant.
The headgasket could have been installed upside-down. This is the best-case scenario, if youre burning. Let it run, watch the coolant level. If it continues to drop, get a leak down test, see if its coming out at the gasket. If not, condensation.

how long was it smoking for? was it humid or real cold out? how long has the motor been ran since initial startup? it could be the head gasket head could be warped or the block can be warped or it just may be the **** burning off that was used to assemble.

The kid who built it been building motor in his diapers...He knows his ish...
At the initial startup it wasnt running for that long and it was kind of chilli outside. But yesterday i let it idle until the rad fan cut on. It didnt over heat at all...
At the initial startup the my brother floored it in neutral... Since the rings are new and you are not suppose to rev it pass 3 to 4k rmp, is there a possibity that the rings were warped..
