b18b...is it salvagable???
i have recently recieved ownership of a b18b. a friend of mine gave it to me (he already ahs an h22) cause he recieved it from antoher person who owed him as a favor. well.. when he called me i hear that he has an engine for me but.... (there is a bad part)
"theres rust"
rust??? where and how much?
"i dunno but ~he says~ it has rust in it.
ok well.... heres my question to all of you. is it still worth trying to fix up that engine to see if it will work if theres rust in it? or is it now a lost cause? any input would be greatly appreciated

any rust IN the cylinders or in the head will burn off pretty fast... if it's in the cooling passages it may cause problems in the future... lik rusting out your whole cooling system...
It all depends on how bad it is... I'm sure LOTS of the jdm motors people get are FULL of rust they just don't know it... they've been sitting for as long as 10 years now....
Should be fine... I wouldn't install it to find out though... run it out of the car on a engine stand see if it works.. and check to see how much rust goes by by after being run for an hour or so..
