b18b compression test... Low numbers? Normal? Input needed.
We ran a compression check on my LS today, but I got some suprisingly low numbers.. I don't know if this is OK. I wanted some input from some people who own B18B's..
Cyl 1- 90
Cyl 2- 90
Cyl 3- 115
Cyl 4- 110
Im going to LS VTEC soon.. Will this straighten out after i change the head??? or is it the bottom end that is generating these numbers?
thanks

Does the car run? How did you do the compression test? The numbers show that the test could have been done wrong. Warm up the car and let the motor rotate atleast 3 times with full throttle then check the numbers.

Re: (Luserkid)
what we did was the following
we removed the spark plug for Cyl 1, connected the gauge to where the spark plug was suppose to go and connected a wire from the battery to the starter to make the car crank.
we cranked it until the gauge reached a certain number and stopped..
but we never did it full throttle.
I dont get why the numbers were so low because the motor only has 40k miles.. and it runs hard for a b18b.
We did this same procedure on my friends ZC and H22 and they both got numbers around the 165-175 range.
same procedure was used.
