b18b cel?
hi guys
i just did a b18b swap into my 93 civic hatch. i had a few codes as usual il start by
telling you what im using. its a 96 b18b with a 93 b16a tranny im using the b16a
wiring harness which is obd-1 harness and a p28 computer with a b18b stock map.
now right now the only code that i can read is 41, which is o2 circut heater
malfunction. i just replaced the o2 sensor but this was before i even knew it was
throwing this code because before i had the vtec solinoid plug pluged in to my fan
to my temp sensor.
anyways i was told that the reason my car is throwing a code 41 is cause obd-2
has a front and rear o2 that was the reason. now first qestion is the 4 wire o2 is
that a heated o2? cause i was told it was not but it doesnt make sense to me.
second question my car once heated up and even after it been heated up for a
while will go into safe mode and doesn't not throw a readable code well not as far
as useing the old jumper wire method, now could that be because of the o2 code
or something totally different cause it will go into safe mode then the check engine
light will go off completely then it will come on again and run normal then it will go
into safe mode. and everytime in safe mode it idle surges a little bit and only revs
to 4k and seems like timing is pulled alot cause of the lack of power up to 4k.
i know this is alot but im trying to give the most amount that i know whats going
on and hopfully someone can help me
thank much

Re: b18b cel? (slammedvtec)
i ordered s-300 but it wont be here for 2 weeks and this is annoying.. anyone know some of the reasons the ECU might be going into safe mode.. and im almost positive this is safe mode, ive searched for a week now atleast to try and figure out the problem. Could the o2 heater cause the computer to go into safe mode or just for it to run in open loop? im really confused about this hole problem and if anyone has any idea's il try it.
