Re: b18a or b16a? what do you think... (89 EF Si)
Well the B16a2 SI motor is probably cheaper. Good motor, not much on the torque but better on top end. B18 GSR motor more torque more expensive. I think you can get a GSR motor for about 3k if you look around. Depends on what you want. I have a B16a2 and I love it but I want more torque and overall power so I am thinking of getting a GSR motor

Where the **** did you get a GSR motor out of his question. He is asking about a B18a vs b16a. anyways, you can get both motors for good prices if you look around. Stock for stock, the b16a will outperform the b18a. If you search, there has been a number of b16a vs b18a threads that will answer all your questions.

He said B18a (LS motor). GSR motor is B18c1. I like the Ls motor due to the cheap price they carry.

Re: b18a or b16a? what do you think... (vbphreak)
b18a will be cheaper then the b18b, cause they are older. and not as strong as the b18b
so for boost (stock vs stock, the b18b will be better then that b18a
the b16a is not even compareble
it's about 1500$ more.. it has vtec.. bla bla
I don't know how you can even compare the b18a vs b16a
are you sure you're not talking about the b18c1 ?
and are you sure it's the b16a and not the b16a2 that you're talking about ?

I'd go with an LS-VTEC setup if I were you. That way you can get your swap and enjoy it for a while as you save up for the new head. LS-VTEC + boost =
