B18A in 92 civic dx
this has probably been discussed before, but will a 92 B18A fit right into a 92 dx? I know the 94-95 B18B's fit...are they all the same?

Actually it won't bolt in as it is. In order to do it and I'm only talking about the motor and not the tranny - you need to change out the timing belt side engine bracket for a 94+ LS one and also do the same for the rear engine bracket. If you need these parts let me know because I had to do the opposite when I put a 96 B18B1 into my 91 CRX.

If you got the B18A for cheap or free, then run it, but if not I would stay far away from that engine.
That motor packs a wholloping 130hp punch.
The SOHC VTEC D16Z6 swap is easier, lighter, and faster and can be had for probably cheaper.
What are your plans for this motor?
I'm not trying to be a dick, but spending $600+ on the mounting and cable-hydro conversion kit just for 130hp is NOT wiorth it IMO.
$600 alone will buy a nice low-mileage D16Z6 complete swap, and those can handle boost excellent too.
So tell us more about your plans if you could please.

Re: B18A in 92 civic dx (B18C5-EH2)
actually, I already have the motor and tranny, got it for free from my old integra...and its a 92 B18A which is 140hp...my plans are LS/Vtec...I know the cable to hydro conversion sucks, but the way I look at it is that cable trannys are cheap to come by, so it'll be less expensive to replace...
does anyone know if I can use my 92 shift linkage?

Okay, my bad - I didn't see that it was a 1993 B18A.
And I wish I could answer your shift linkage Q, but I've never attempted that swap and I like to speak from experience.
I would *think* that you would need the 1994-up Integra or 1999-2000 Civic Si linkage like normally used for the B-series into 1992-1995 Civic swaps, but *maybe* the DA linkage will work?
Just test fit it and see, right?
