B18 w/ D-series Mounts
Quick question on swapping motor mounts in an EK hatch...
Have a b18c in there with type R head, some bolts on and hondata; it puts around 200hp to the wheels. When I did the swap, i used the original D-series motor mounts.
I'm not having an issue yet, but should I replace them with something after market?
Are there any gains to having upgrade motor mounts?
For the money I feel like that money could be better served in doing some other upgrade to the car. However, I wanted to have a few peeps weigh in, I'm not finding definitive info via search.

I would say that if there's nothing wrong with the stock mounts don't replace them. If you can feel the drivetrain rocking alot then I would go for a performance mount that is the solid urethane mount. I have innovative mounts in my ef, and they are decent.

I picked up a set of Drop Engineering mounts for my EK D-series about 9 months ago and love them. They should have a set for the B18's (three bolt post), too.

motor mounts are crucial. its what keeps the power on the ground and not wheel hoping down the track. you could put some stress on the mounts or chassis if you plan to add some hp.

i say upgrade them just cuz u have a beast motor might as well go with beast mounts such as hasport or avid to be on the safe side cuz im sure u dont want to break a mount

The driver's side mount is kind of weak on the '96 - '00 Civics, but the rest of them are decent enough as long as you run all of them this means running lower torque mounts.
