i got a 95 cx with a b16a with i/h/e, everything else bone sotck. Some kid i know just got a ls motor swapped into his 92 cx and he wants to race me but i hate street racing only if its worth it and in private area. He says its all stock only got a cai. U guys think i got a chance, i know i got high end power but i know them ls motor got good torque. I ve heard b16 can catch up after 3rd and ive hear ls can win over a b16 powered hatch. Controversial.. Let me know was up brothas, should i go for it or not. P.S> reason i wanna know is cause this kid shows off a whole lot, just want him to keep his mouth shut, and leave me alone.

hmm this is a good one.. ive seen both in action .. but never really payed attention.. plus ive never seen the both go heads up. but yeah.. i think it will tie down to whos the better driver. IF .. IF what he says what he says is true. if that is ALL he has , then you might have a chance of beating him... lol.. just drop your back seat.might help a little. but yeah... i think it will come down to the driver with how both are set up.

My brother has a 2000 B16a2 in his 93 hatch and I have a B18C1 in my 95 hatch. I smoked his ***. about 4 car lengths and he has more **** done to his. Also I have a friend that has a B18C1 in his hatch also and having the B16A tranny really helps out.

i dont see any reason why u wouldnt beat him..its got 30 hp less ant 10 ft-lbs more i dont know if this helps or not but my friend has a 94 ls integra with ..............cai/dc header/venom pcm/exahust/fuel press. reg./short shifter and some other **** and i smoke him by many a car in my b16a hatch i know the weight differences would be a big issue but i still think ud beat him

no doubt a b18c1 will smoke a b16. Im looking for for a non vtec b18a-b. Thats another thing.. i was gonna go for some nice stage 2 cams from skunk2 but now ive decided to buy me a engine stand, ls or gsr block and some time to get me a torquie 1.8 liter. IM guessing im gonna need about 800-900 dollars to convert my torqueless b16 to a screaming 1.8 liter vtec machine let me know some more infor on a non vtec b18 hatch vs. a b16 vtec hatch

If you launch perfect, I think you will start to pull slightly at the top of 2nd and on into MaD 3Rd gEaR VtEk It will be close, but I think you get him slightly.

i raced several b18c powered hb's with my old b16a (152whp stock) and won almost every race...

if its a jdm b16a sirII then it should be right there...especially if its tuned properly and has good compression...and all the bolt-on's.

Dude where is Vtec kick'n in? If vtec kicks in 4400 ur set but stock ur fucked. I ran b18 vs b16a, both hatches 93 si. I murdered his ******* ***. But my engine was 2nd Gen. of the line he peeled out with his torque me boggling but vtec kicked in and punched 1,2 by power shifting all 4 gears. Good luck,

hey dude ....if ur shyt isnt stripped, then to it just for the race. Take the bitch apart. U should smoke him nasty style then. trust in that!! my 94 dx somkes the Si hb by like 2 cars if iam stripped and he isnt. So strip it down to just u and dash, and shifter. Then u ******* better beat his *** !!

my friend and I raced down the 401 hwy (major hwy in ontairo canada) i have b16a2 and he has b18c1, sir vs gsr both in eg's, we are both running obd1 with chipped ecu's, all motor we we're side by side 1st gear, i pulled slightly in 2nd, he cought me in third and pulled half a fender, top end of third we we're side by side, 4th he pulled good half a car until i hit around 7300 rpm and started to catch him, by that time we were going about 215- 220 km and both let off. This was a b16a2 fresh out of the box, I had just got it running from my swap, the b18c1 has no interior, caged, jun cams and spoon exaust with an expirenced driver on road couses, it was close, all and all both cars we're pretty even, what i lacked in low rpm i gained in top end and vice versa, it a tough one I give it to the best driver, I'll i know was after i was week in the knees and pumped with adrenalin...

B18B will be easier to get quick times with but the B16 is almost always faster with equal drivers and mods. Either way both motors are good choices

oh my goodness people, maybe its just every LS hatch I've raced or something, but I have never, and I mean never even come close to losing to a stock LS swap mon any car (CRX included). Yes he will stay with you all through first, maybe even gain a little, but in mid second gear it will look like he pressed the brakes, seriously... I have a stock JDM b16a (1st gen with hat nice short gearing cable tranny) with an exhaust and short ram intake... Oh and I have always had my full interior, jack, and spare in the car... Please, its no competition...

thats what i was thinking....b16a vs a b18c1....if the b16a were to win, why would anyone buy a b18c1? i thought he was talking about a b18b the whole time until people started talking about GSR's and stuff....a b18b and a b16a would be more of a challenge. i stay vtec owns.

oh, and what tires are you running. traction is everything when racing in a straight line.

i gotta stick up for my ls peeps, ive beaten many b16s off the line and all the way till 3rd, thats when they start to pull i guess, but by then at a street race, the race is over

i have 02 4dr dx with b16a sirII i raced a ls hatch and beat him bad. off the line they chill with you for a second and then vtec kicks in and your out. youll beatem bad if you can drive kid.
