b18++B20
my question is. Is the b18 and b20 from the oldschool prelude the same motor and also which one is the best to run

Re: b18++B20 (supercivic69)
b18's are most commonly from integras, and the b20 that came in the early model prelude is a completely different engine. stay away from that b20.

Absolutely not. The B20A/B21A is completely different from all other B-series engines. Stay far away from it. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">which one is the best to run</TD></TR></TABLE> Depends on what you're looking to achieve and what your budget is. |
I heard that you can make a stroker with the prelude B series crankshaft ...
is that real ? |
Re: (Untengijutsu)
well the b18a/b's and b20's have the same crankshaft so you wont accomplish anything there. but when it comes to the prelude b20, they are different from traditional b series engines so i doubt it'll work.

to me those old b20a5 prelude motors are garbage to me. if you wanted to go b20 do a b20b there cheap but the cylinder walls are weak though from what I have heard.
|
B20B/Z's have "weak" cylinder walls because they're a B18B block, overbored .2L.

I'd recommend the JDM '99-01 B20B or the B20Zx if he just wants to run a straight B20. It's a 20hp and 500 RPM difference. If he plans to run a VTEC head, then as you said, might as well get the JDM '95-98 B20B or the B20Bx since you have to change the pistons . . . |
