First off, what kind of b18? ls, gsr, type-r, etc.

Second, if you search you can find a lot of information on what you are looking for as well as information on how to swap it into your car.

best advice for anyone willing to swap, is to look at your budget. Even if you have enough money to purchase an engine, make sure you still have extra cash (eg. $1000-2000) cause you never know what you might run into and every situation is different depending on your engine.

As for B18's, if you search, more specifically a B18C1 is recommended for turbo's (BOOST) where as a B18C5 is recommended for N/A. I myself have bought a B18C5 and plan on going turbo. Just because I already have a B18C5 and like to be abit different.

Bottom line is, do what ever you basically want because I personally think no matter what question anyone has asked about, such as engines or modding in general, its been done by someone already.

I would go with the b18c1, basic gsr motor. Then with the $1000+ you saved instead of buying a b18c5, buy a b16 head and put it on the gsr motor. This will be more similar to the type r motor as the heads have the same blueprints. If you want while you have the b16 head out change the valvetrain to better that of the b18c5 and then put it on. This is called a "poor man's type-r." That's my plan for my civic. I've driven an ek hatch with a gsr-poor mans type r, and it was super bad-***. Much faster than the regular Integra gsr.

Smart man! I had a "poor man's type-r" in my gsr and I ran a 14.1 all day with no weight reduction and normal street tires The b16 tranny would also be suggested...

Put a LS motor, no VTEC but more torque than a GSR but less than a type R. If your on the budget, an LS swap is great. Torque motors

B18B
This is the motor in the non Type-R and non GSR Integra.

Pros
Good torque for a 1.8L (127 ft/lbs)
Inexpensive (even cheaper than a B16)
142 hp (more than any stock D series)
Boost heads love them

Cons
No VTEC
Longest B series transmission

B18C1 (or JDM B18C)
These come out of an Integra GSR.

Pros
Good Hp and TQ numbers (170, 121 ft/lbs respectively)
DOHC VTEC
Tons of potential
High revving

Cons
Expensive
Becoming moreso as people keep scooping them up
Slighty longer tranny than the ITR and B16

B18C5 (or JDM B18C)
This is found in the Integra Type-R. IMHO this is the best swap for a Civic.

Pros
GREAT HP and TQ numbers (195 and 134 ft/lbs)
High revving
Hand built motor from Honda
Optional factory LSD
Best transmission for a B series from the factory
Red valve cover

Cons
EXPENSIVE
If JDM ITR is used, the 36mm axle 32mm hub problems occur
