b17 build...any suggestions
I just bought a 93 eg with a b17 swap. I like it so far but I want to get more power out of it. I know that if I want to get a huge increase in power a turbo would be the way to go, but I dont have the money for that at this time and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to get more power without the huge expense of a turbo kit. Im not 100% set on going turbo if I could make a decent amount of power all motor. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

Re: b17 build...any suggestions
The full swap came out of a 92 integra gsr motor, tranny and ecu so the ys1 cable trans if thats what the 92 gsr came with. Im new to hondas and thats why i figured I'd ask all of you seasoned professionals. I already have a crappy no name intake, dc 4-2-1 headers and an apexi ws2 exhaust.

How many miles on the engine?
1) Lightweight flywheel and crank pulley
2) Check the market place and grab some CTR cams for like $200
3) AEM/Buddy club cam gears (preferably Buddy club)
4) '98 spec ITR tranny
5) Grounding kit
6) Chip the ECU and dyno tune
7) And if you not pleased with the header grab a stainless 4-1 like a cheap ITR header
Have you considered nitrious oxide?

Re: b17 build...any suggestions
The engine has about 120,000 miles. I just replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and I also replaced most of the other smaller belts while that was being done. I was looking into some CTR cams and and some new cam gears. How much HP do you think I would gain with a tune? I never really considered nitrious because this is my daily driver. I am just looking for some recomended changes I could make to get some more power that is street friendly. Im looking to be around the 225whp mark. Thanks

Yea I was thinking all motor but to reach the kind of numbers I am lookin for I think I would have to change alot haha. Anybody have an all motor set up making numbers around 200-220whp?(besides b20's) How hard was it to reach these numbers and what would you suggest to start me off in the right direction

Haha so Im guessing my numbers are way out of line. If 165-180whp is more realistic how would you suggest I begin my build

Re: b17 build...any suggestions
ive seen 200 plus HP out of all motor
b 16 or 17 however the motor was freshly rebuilt and tuned professionally
It had cams and ported and polished and it had CTR Pistons with rods and crank and ITBs which is the key for 200 plus hp in a relativly stock motor with cams Toca makes good Individual throttle bodys but They are the key for 200 plus all motor HP from what i hear a local guy had ITBs on his 98 Hatch it had a b18c1 in it with upgraded pistons cams ITBs and exhaust, dont ask me the brand or the specs of the car but i went to a meet a while back and heard him talk to some one about the car. i belive it produced 220 hp and he said it was crazy because turbo cars dont have that off the line HP so it said it was very peppy and the Vtec hit pretty hard causing the wheels to churp this is what i heard him say I dont know if its true or not but ive seen buids in mags before wit All motor b16s

Re: b17 build...any suggestions
I hate threads like these. If you want good power, get a good set of cams with supporting valvetrain ie, s2s2 ect... The usual i/h/e and maybe a intake manifold. Then get it tuned and you will more than happy with the results.
