Re: b17? (HybridRacer)
i hardly ever see those cars either. most of the 92-93 gsr's i've seen had their decals removed for that stealth mode, but i always catch the "vtec" instead of the "dohc" on the side moldings...sneeky devils.

why do you want the block?? its the same **** as a b16a (not exactly, but essentially) personally, i wouldnt pay any more for a b17 than i would for a b16. yeah, they are rare, and yeah it was the 1st mass produced DOHC VTEC motor in the states (i said mass produced, not including the NSX), but it makes the same HP as a b16a and like 4 more pounds of torque. also, finding one with low milage is IMPOSSIBLE because they were last made in 93. i think yer buddy should have just sprung for a jdm B16a and then he would have known that the motor had low milage. just my tow cents.

Brett</TD></TR></TABLE>And he would know it had low mileage how? Just because the importer GUARANTEES it has less than X amount of miles? Thats Bullshit. There is no way of telling how many miles there are on a particular engine unless you buy the whole clip. I think you are an idiot that needs to refer to this POST https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=655871 And why would you get a B16a? Why not get the b17a? It has more torque, has a lower comp, stock so with some pct pistons you will have a lot of power on hand, and it is US spec.

Because I do. And who said I am willing to pay more than I would for a b16 block? Plus, the extra .1 of displacement and the extra 7 ft/lbs of torque are enough to make my car 2 seconds faster in the quarter. Its better than NOS.
