b16's barely staying alive
I just swapped a B16 into my 95 civi coupe, I had one in before but blew it up. I went to start the new motor and its running extremely rough. I have a code but havnt checked it yet. The tack bounces around between 900 and 100 rpms. I got the motor from Hmotors so it should be in good shape. I am using my neptune ecu that I had on my last B16, and I didnt change the spark plugs. It sounds like a quite all motor muscle car. I was thinking it could be the dizzy or the spark plugs, maybe the fuel injectors.

remember that warranty is only good if you changed plugs, wires, rotor, cap, water pump and timing belt on the motor before you started it up. Check and make sure that your timing isn't one tooth off.

without using a timing light, or having aftermarket cam gears how would I know if the timing was off one tooth?

theres a top dead center mark on each of the spockets and the crank pulley. make sure they line up.

Re: b16's barely staying alive (VolcomX)
ok so I changed the spark plugs and swapped back to ecu that came with it now it runs idle normally and everything. I went for a drive, made it about 20ft before it died. When I have the clutch engaged it will rev as high as I want it, but... when I push the throttle once it gets past 1500 rpms it dies... is it not getting enough air or is it not getting enough fuel... Im lost again
