b16b vs b20b vs b20z
ok here is the deal i was looking into getting a bigger block and i have a messed up b18b sitting in the shed i needs some real work.(sleeves, pistons, rods) now what i wanted to know is what is the major difference with the b20b and the b20z?( i know one has higher compression but which is better to work on)? or am i better off working on my b18b that i have already sleeve it up and get new pistons and rods for it? what is the better bang for the buck basically?

Most people will tell you you're going to want to sleeve up the B20 also, especially if you're wanting VTEC. Without tip top fuel management I wouldn't go past 8 or even 7.5 on a stock bottom.
I would keep with the b18b, it'll be cheaper.
What's with the b16b option? - I don't think you're lookin to go that way.
And a little future plan will help also, are you boosting (or will be)?

my fault i didn't mean b16b i meant b18b sorry so you are saying it is better to build my b18b over getting a different block for the other hand i have a friend that has a stock b20z block with his pr3 head on it and he has put on 40k on it so far with no problems but i am looking to go boost so i know i need to make the block stronger so doing the b18b is better?

if you already have the b18b block then why not keep that one and build it instead of buying another block. just get new rods and pistons and dont really worry about the sleeves unless your gonna be pushing over 250-300whp.

see that is the problem i have to worry about the sleeves one of them are cracked and the pistons are stuck on them so i need to get those sleeves out that is why i was wondering if it is even worth working on it at all
