You have a bad ground somewhere.
The problem is NOT the main relay. The main relay does not affect spark production, only fuel delivery.

Stop throwing parts at it!
Make sure you are not getting a spark first. Take a spark plug wire out, crank the car over and see if you have a spark or not. If there is no spark then go to your ignition fuse with a multimeter and see if you get voltage there.
Tell me what you get and we will go from there.

that was the first thing i did (pull a plug and wire out and test it), no spark, i have a friend comming over with a multimeter later tonight... i'll post then thanks... also should i be cranking the car when checking the voltage at the fuse or just have the key in the on position? thanks again...

Re: b16b not getting spark help!! its not the dizzy (blinx9900)
Do you have it set on DC voltage?
Now you need to test for voltage drops on the ignition circuit. For the power side have the ignition turned on and put the positive meter cable on the + battery and put the negative cable on the wire that provides voltage to the distributor. With the ground side put the positive cable on the ground wire at the distributor and the positive cable on the ground of the battery. You shouldn't see more that a .5v drop on both these wires.
If you can source a wire diagram for your car that would make this a lot easier.
