Default B16B distributor

Hello, Currently I'm using B16a distributor in my JDM EG9. But my engine is b18cr. I swapped the engine only(block and head). So still using many of my existing thing from my EG9. I heard my Mechanic said that using B16b distributor will give more higher spark than using b16a distributor is that true? (I know the type R dizzy is obd2)thank you

Thank you for the reply. So you mean now I'm using b16a distributor is same like the one ek9 type r or itr type r. Just the cable wiring socket difference? But why the mechanic claimed that type R distributor is more current than normal b16a dizzy? Then How about using MSD Pro-Billet Honda Distributor? Thank you

Completely untrue All oem distributors have the same performance, there is nothing special or different about the dizzy on a type R

Thank guys. Thank for the reply. I thought the type R distributor will be difference since the engine is powerful. I thought using the type r distributor will match up the engine. I think that is false information provide by my mechanic. Maybe be I'm little addicted to the name Type R( Type R Maniac) Haha thank you once again.

It is all in the engine. Leave it alone, and stop going to that mechanic.
