B16B CTR Hybrid 92 CX Pics
Here are some pics of my B16B CTR swap in my 92 CX hatch. The trans in the pic is a USDM ITR trans i bought new from Acura last year fwiw. Anyhow we have some bugs to work out but here are some pics for you guys to comment on. Let's here some good ones I hope. BTW the engine was converted to OBDI hence distributor having 2 plugs etc..... Just go into my album and look @ the 4 pics. Please not they are graphic intensive so allow a few secs for loading... http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292041779
I hope to get all the bugs worked out soon. Can't wait to get her runnin' right. Anyhow flame away or whatever cause I got a B16B. I had an LS w/JRSC and wanted to be different again. You can get B18C(Spec R JDM) or B18C5's all day but these are hard to come by.....

Ummm, yeah... That is freaking dope. Nice work, and big originality points. I agree--there just aren't that many B16B swaps out there.

That is true why buy a B16B??? It goes for what $4500-5000! NO WAY!! You can get a B18c1 for 3-3500 if not CHEAPER. I like the B18B but it's pointless to buy the swap over the B18C1.
And people are right you could have just got a B18C5 if you what that infamous "Type R" rep. They cost the same you know! NOT HATING. Just thinking in financial terms.
NICE SWAP THOUGH! Let us know how it runs.

one good thing on the b16b if yo have the $$ is that people think that you have a 1.6 and make it a sleeper and put a b18c5 crank keeping the ctr pistons and you have a nice high CR 1.8l thats if you have the $$ just to fool around , cause i know that you could get some nice #'s out of a b18c1 .b18b/vtec , b20vtec or fully built b16a

Re: B16B CTR Hybrid 92 CX Pics (killingtime)
The main reason I went with the B16B over a B18C(R) was that I plan on going turbo in the future. Larry(import auto salvage who btw is my old employer) said that the B16 was a more friendly boost engine in his experience and we all know he has that. Anyhow I want to go with around 7PSI or so sometime down the road. I can get a B18C crank and connecting rods etc and take this to a stroked 1.8L CTR. Anyhow thanks for the nice comments guys. Also the strut tower bar has all its bolts in place. That is a USDM bar btw.
