everything would bolt right in. you shouldn't need anything but the pct ecu, but IMO you'd be better off not to do the swap. b16b's are nice motors IN a HATCH, i.e CTR's.....not a heavy usdm civic si.

oh yeah,, the only difference in the tranny's are the ctr has better synchros and lsd. same 4.4 fd. (5spd)

Build the stock motor. Invest the money that you would spend on a swap into your b16a. I'm living proof that bolt-ons and mild cams = mid-low 14's in the 00 SI.

ctr's are not 6 speed. just use the money to build the motor u got. it will be much better than a ctr motor.

why the hell would you swap out a b16a for a b16b?! that is rediculous

build what you have with that money that youd waste and you could beat any stock b16b

or if youre hell bent on swapping get a b18c1/5

if you put the same stuff, pct pistons, cams, valvetrain, intake maifold, CAMGEARS, VAFC, you will have a stronger motor than a b16b.

swapping a B16A for a B18C1 is like trading a sprite for a 7up.

B16B's are good because their shorter stroke and balanced crank shaft make it possible to rev much higher, but the only difference you'll see over the B16A is the top end power. if i were you, i'd use the money youre going to spend on the B16B and just build your head, get a B18C1 or C5 shortblock, sleeve it, bore it out to 84mm, aftermarket rods and piston's and you're set. you'll have a 2.0L poor man's type-R for the same price you were going to spend on a factory longblock.

B16B is basically a destroked B18C-R with a different exhaust cam and higher domed pisotns.

BTW 4800 + shipping is a rip off for a long block.

yes, that is a nice looking engine. but you can get a brand new B18C5 longblock from acura for under $4,000. i dont know what it is with people thinking B16B's are so super special, i saw someone on here trying to sell a used B16B head for $2,500. just cause its from japan doesnt mean you should ask more. but...its your motor.

EDIT: ah, i didnt see the mugen thread, that is a fair price then, my bad.

Yea this motor is well worth the 4800 tag. Not for a street car because with a street car IMO you can use alot less and still be happy. But if you want the best, you gotta come outta the pocket, and Chad has it! for the sale!

R motors are purpose built for racing, they both have two different personalities on the track, if youve never raced both, dont waste our time with your igsignificant commments, your ignorance is clouding others judments.. sorry if that sounds harsh, but im fed up with ignorance and biases on this board

do not waste your money on a b16b.......either build a b18c1/c5 block with a b16 head with a ctr intake cam. or just build a b20 with a b16 head........the b16b is just a waste. imo
