B16ASiR2 turbo vs. B18C

I know you guys are just going to tell me to search, but i want to know straight out which would be a better set up for my 95' Del Sol, a B16A SiR2 turbo or a N/A B18C. The B16A will be set at around 8-10 psi. I have the money for both i just want to know whing one will be better in the long run for mostly street and some track use.

Re: B16ASiR2 turbo vs. B18C (B18C1 Del Sol soon)

b16 turbo will annhialate a all motor gsr unless you wanna spend massive amounts on it make sure you have good fuel management

Re: B16ASiR2 turbo vs. B18C (Art In Motion)

yea b16 turbo will kill a NA gsr but in the long i think a NA GSR would be better espically if its gonna be your daily drivier.

Bseriescivic5 07-25-2004 06:58 PM

go gsr.....without money to BUILD a b16 turbo you will regret it in the long run when it blows up, get the GSR and run the piss outta it with confidence.

ej1 pilot 07-25-2004 07:05 PM

Re: (Bseriescivic5)

it will cost money to BUILD a gsr too, and much more to make it as fast as a b16-t, all you need is good fuel management run hondata or uberdata, turbo is cheaper and faster, just dont drive it like you stole it all the time

thrty8street 07-25-2004 07:17 PM

Re: (Art In Motion)

i would go with all motor gsr, just my preference. i would slap on some bolt ons and if i decide i need more power then i would turbo the GSR motor which in theory should be faster than a b16 turbo.

Re: B16ASiR2 turbo vs. B18C (B18C1 Del Sol soon)

why not get the gsr first and save up for a turbo kit?

seems like you are in a hurry....

Re: B16ASiR2 turbo vs. B18C (B18C1 Del Sol soon)

it shouldnt cost much extra to pick up a gsr instead of a b16. and a turbo kit for either should be about the same price. so why not just turbo a gsr. and have all the power you need??

turbo gsr https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Bseriescivic5 07-26-2004 06:30 AM

like i said just get a GSR throw some bolt ons on it till you have MONEY TO BUILD IT. then turbo charge it down the road and you will be much more happy.

Galaxy Si 07-26-2004 08:46 AM

what if i didn't turbc charge the B16, whinch one would be a more worth while engine, which one can be modified with out freakin out

Would you compare a V8 to an i4? No.

Then don't compare boost to NA...

Pointless thread...

Caretaker 07-26-2004 10:00 AM

go N/A JDM B18C5 bro.

When I get done with my D16 in my sol and I still want it, I will swap in a B18C and then save up for boosting that.

Re: (SolObsession)

this winter i'm doin my GSR swap into my civic, and i'm just gonna do bolt ons for now and possibly down the road get a turbo or work more on internals

Re: (j0nptw)

if u got a good buy on a gsr get it, but you will prolly find a b16 easier

b16 turbo all fucking day https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

who cares about running high 13's and saying its "all motor" when you can run 11's with a b16 turbo https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

SleepnCiViC 07-26-2004 02:44 PM

LS turbo save alot more money, and more reliable and simpler set up then boosting a b16
