Default B16a3 vs B18c1

I'm looking for a Del sol, and I'm not sure what to get. the 94 up vtec version comes with a b16a3. should i just get that or should i get a regular one and drop a b18c1 in it. is the b18c1 that much better. i don't wanna go turbo. Its seems to me that they make more for the b16a in jdm performance parts. What do you think?

Get the b18c1 and then save up for a b16 head. That is what I'm gonna do with my del sol.

First... I think you should learn to make your own decisions, Honda-Tech isn't here to hold your hand. You're a big boy now.

This is what I would do.

Thirdly...

isnt only 94-95 come with B16A3. 96-97 come with B16A2 no?

I'd do GSR because no replacement for displacement

the b16 head on a GSR lowers compression...thou it may flow better at higher RPM's and they make easier CAI's and SRI's...instead of spending 500 on a b16 head get a skunk2 proseries IM and be done...lowering compression makes no sense unless you plan to turbo...

so to answer your question...just buy a GSR swap..and be done...
like he said..no replacement for displacement

But we are here to help him make a good decision based on solid infomation and/or experience aren't we...

I think all the information givin has more than justified him creating this thread, don't you?
