Default B16A3 BOGGING OUT PROBLEM! EVERYONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey whats up guy's? Ok so I have a B16A3 in my 91 Civic Si. The motor is completly stock as I want to bar the car. I had a stock b16 head on the motor and after going to the race track I floated a valve as I did not know I needed better springs! =( so I just used my spare b16 head. Now the car was tuned on crome, but has not been retuned after the head was changed. My throttle body was a stock b16 throttle body and I bored it out to 68mm and its tapered back into the stock size. I am running a Type R manifold which I believe is 64mm Stock. I never bored or honed the manifold. This throttle body due to being bored out, the material was so thin it CRACKED! I threw my 70mm BLOX throttle body on it and now have constant 1st gear bogging. When I put the gas peddle to the metal and drop the clutch its boggs out, engine does not die, but my throttle responce just BLOWS!

So I threw on a new cast throttle body I ordered from IL4 and its 68 tapered to 65 and I believe as I said the Type R manifold is 64mm. So when I slowly rev the engine its fine, but when I snap the throttle cable I hear a loud suck noise obviously from the intake, and it take a second or two to actualy respond.

So my questions are:
1: Is this normal for a stock b16?
2: My friend said I need to retune check time and get a fuel pressure regulator. Is this true?
3: If this is not normal what can I do for better throttle responce? =( I want to be able to hit the gas and have a SNAP like responce from the gas pedal.

Thanks guys I know this is long but you guys have helped me build this thing!

1 wrong forum

2 removing/raising rev limit on stock motor is retarded

3 please include only relevant info in your posts

4 i like crunchy tacos better

but to answer your questions:

1. yes the suck is normal

2. retune yes, check timing can't hurt and fpr.. no

3. throttle response? a well-designed intake manifold, higher compression, anything but stock head, a lighter flywheel, good exhaust system, and some grade-a old fashioned intelligent tuning. some people will swear by the whale-dick intake too.

You might also wanna replace your fuel filter, if its mostly clogged it'll idle all day but fall flat on its face under load.

Hey guys thanks for the tips! The first post made me laugh! And my bad about the wrong Forum but thanks for the help anyways. I will check the cam timing and the engnition timeing as well, and will swap out the fuel filter and get back to you guys once I have done all this and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help. Any other ideas from anyone else would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
