b16a3 (94-95 del sol) check engine light
I have a '94 del sol s with a b16a3 swapped in. The only thing wrong with the swap is the knock sensor isn't wired, so my check engine light comes on about 10 minutes after i start my car. Sometimes it feels like it isn't pulling as hard as it should be.... is it in "loop mode"? would wiring the knock sensor add any power? Thanks.

what would it hurt to wire in that knock sensor and TRYYYYYYYYYYYY if it fixes it. why dont you pull up some codes and look them up buddy. that helps too.

The knock sensor code will not disable Vtec, it will retard timing like no other which will kill the performance. Either fix the knock sensor or get a ECU that dosen't look for hte knock sensor. Honda knock sensors are about worthless. I got a chipped ECU for mine, set the timing to 18 degrees and run 93 octane gas and it hasn't pinged once yet !

Ok.... The person I bought my car from did the swap, and tried to run the wire for the knock sensor, but a normal wire didn't work. He said I would have to get it from honda or from a junkyard. Anyone know how much it might cost to have it ran at a Honda dealership?
