B16A2 Swap Questions - Thanks In Advance
Ok here's the dealio: Next weekend I am going to pick up a B16A2 motor out of a 99 civic Si. I have a 99 Civic EX. I was reading some of the FAQ about swaps and it provided some insight but I won't be swapping this motor for about 3 years, I just found a decent deal I want to jump on. SO why I'm asking is because over these years I will be gradually buying other parts I need to complete my swap. That basically is my question, what can I keep from my car when I swap in the B16? I'm getting the complete longblock with head, distributor, flywheel, intake manifold, sensors, vtec solenoid, throttle body, fuel rail, exhaust manifold and ECU.
Do I need new motor mounts?
Will the wiring harness just plug and play?
Will my plugs for the ECU now just plug right into the new ECU?
I know I'll need b-series axles, will I need to grab a B-series tranny or can I keep the D-series to bolt up to the new motor?
What about alternator and PS pump, can I use the old or have to by ones specific to the b-series?
Sorry for all the questions, again, I'm just trying to figure out what I can keep out of my old car to use with the new car. Any insight would be helpful and thanks so much in advance!
P.S. About how much does a B16A2 weigh without tranny or fluid; as I am trying to figure out weather to get a tiny uhaul trailer/van or if I can just throw it in the trunk of an 85 Grand Marquis to haul it home,

Thanks for that link, helps a lot, so I know I need new tranny/axles/PS pump/alternator/throttle cable/upper,lower radiator hoses/motor mounts/clutch,flywheel/shift linkage, and starter...that's all I can think of that I KNOW I need.
I already have a new ECU and Greddy 4-2-1 exhaust manifold.
Now can someone please clarify if I need the following:
1)Starter, or can I use my old one
2)Clutch hydraulics, since I will just be using another hydralic tranny system
3)AC compressor will have to be changed, am I correct?
Thanks for all your help in advance, just trying to get my ducks in a row to collect the stuff over the next year or so.

You need a B series starter to match the B series tranny you will have to run.

No change in clutch hydraulics is needed - same for Ex and Si.

No you keep your EX A/C system, but change the mounting bracket that holds the compressor to the front of the engine block - the only part I don't know 100% (because I'm an EG guy 92-95) is exactly which car the mount must come from. It will either be a 99-00 Civic Si A/c bracket, or a 94-97 Del Sol DOHC VTEC bracket.
You do not even need to discharge the A/c system to swap engines either. Simply unbolt the compressor from the mounting bracket, leave the lines attached, and zip tie or bungie the compressor up against the front core support and out of your way while swapping engines. It might be a little tighter getting the engine in and out, but it'll save you the grief of having to get the system recharged.

Re: B16A2 Swap Questions - Thanks In Advance (B18C5-EH2)
Nice info, thanks, bookmarked for sure as I'll be collecting this stuff for a while. So along with a starter in addition to the other things that would generally be everything I need wouldn't it?

don't forget to piece up a turbo kit. lol might as well, for three years have something more than a stock motor lol. good luck though. oh yah if i can pull a b20v with clutch/tranny in my 93 DX hatch for 50 miles on the freeway with some crazy uphill climbs.. then you can pull a measly b16 long block in anything.
