Default B16A2 swap into EK wiring issue

As the title says, I just swapped a B16A2 out of a 99/00 SiR (Canadian version of your Si) into my 96 EK and everything is running and functional except that none of my gauges (speedo, tach, temp, gas, odometer, etc) are working. However the lighting, CEL, and all other 'idiot' lights are functioning properly. Also the OBD2 scan tool will not read the codes. The swap was previously in a 96-98 EK and everything worked and he supposedly gave me all the wiring and stock OBD2b ECU.

According to this link: http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/wiring.obd2b.htm
I should have three connectors going to the ECU. The harness looks pretty factory (but hard to tell), but it only has Connectors B and C from this pinout, and I have nothing plugged into A. I checked and double checked and there are no spare plugs just laying around that I missed. Weird thing is though according to this pinout there are things like fuel pump relay that have to be wired since the car runs and drives (as well as the brake light switch and I do have brake lights). However there are other things from Connector A that I couldn't find plugs for, like the secondary O2 sensor.

Sorry for the length of this post, just trying to give as much detail as possible. I guess the main thing I'm trying to figure out is, do all stock/uncut B16A2 harnesses have those three connectors, or is there a two connector version like I have? Or is what I have some sort of hacked version? I'm not great with electrical and not sure where I should start troubleshooting, so any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll need to use your 96 harness with a jumper harness.
Obd2b has A plug as part of the cabin harness.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Is there any other way of doin this, such as getting this part of the OBD2b cabin harness and installing it? Or is that more work?

Also a bit confused how my car can be running while missing everything on Connector A, as some things like the fuel pump relay seem like they'd have been essential to the swap running. Also there are things on that connector like the brake switch and MIL that are working.

You could use a cabin harness from an ex or SI but that's gonna be a lot more work than a Jumper harness

OK, so to summarize, my engine is OBD2b, my ECU is OBD2b, I would need to use the OBD2a engine harness and an OBD2a to OBD2b conversion harness? What additional wiring is needed? Like obviously my old Y7 didn't have VTEC or a knock sensor, so those are two plugs I'd have to wire in on top. And wouldn't then I also have to do some sort of conversion for my IACV and distributor plugs too?

By my count there are 16 wires from Connector A that I'm missing that I should have. Could I run/pin each of those 16 wires to where they need to go and essentially make my own Connector A portion of the harness and net the same result?

Ok here's some options:

-run 96-98 EX engine harness plus obd2a-b jumper
And wire in secondary 02
-run your DX harness, add wiring for VTEC, knock and 2 wire IACV conversion at the plug and ECU, extend secondary 02, plus jumper harness
-run SI engine harness, SI cabin harness

I guess you could repin the plug if you're up to it but in not sure how many pins on the other connectors match up

So if I run the DX harness you're saying the 96-98 DX harness will plug into the distributor and the jumper harness will sort out the wiring? Or would I need an OBD2a distributor as well?

Also when you say 96-98 EX harness, you're talking a D16Y8 harness right? So then that already has the VTEC wiring plus the 2 wire IACV? And I guess same question applies for the distributor, that is one thing that is still unclear to me.

Thanks again for the help.

Only the 99-00 Y7/Y8 distributor has a different plug so the DX harness will plug and play. You will need to add wiring for VTEC, knock, 2 wire IACV and extend the second O2.

Yeah the 96-98 Y8 harness has VTEC, knock and 2 wire IACV already and will plug and play. With this harness you'll still have to manually wire in the 2nd O2 to the ECU.
