B16a2 swap in 94 ex, couple questions..
Okay, me and a couple freinds are doing a a2 swap into his 94 ex tomorrow, i havnt seen all he has yet, but he told me he has tranny engine, axles ecu, and a few other things i forgot. But I want to know if anything needs to be wired up or anything like that?
Ive only done swaps on EFs before, is there much difference in a swap like this? What should I look for, im the only one with swapping experience doing this, lol. I dont think it will be difficult, pretty much common sense like an EF but just want to be sure about everything...

A knock sensor is the only wire needed where the ex is already wired for vtec. You'll find in on the back of the block, right under the intake manifold. If you have the JDM b16, the wiring harness will have a green plug with a red/blue wire attached to it. Since the JDM harness is for a right handed car, it wont fit, butyou can just use the harness in your car now, just cut the knock sensor wire out, and run a wire to the D3 slot on the ecu. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, take it to the shop.

If youve done EF swaps this shouldnt be a problem, everything pretty much drops right in. Good luck with it!

Okay one more question, the plugs for the alternator are different do you use the z6 alternator or wire up the b16 clip to work?

Well we got the motor in, and all went well, it cranked over the first time. But the one thing that is not working is the tach in the car. What could this be, what wires would it be on the distributor that are wired wrong? I mean i know thats where the problem is, I just dont know what wires to look for on the obd1 harness.

I have a 1995 del sol with the ls/vtec swap..I brought a b16a2 swap and just replace it with the ls block..on the dist, there should be two harness..find the harness with two wires...it should have a blue and black wires..the blue wires is the tach wires so make sure that it's good. i can give you the ecu pin location tomorrow if that wires is good..
