B16A2 to LSVTEC ?'s Pro's & Con's
I want to go 1.8L since turbo is the route I am going . Can anyone tell me if the pros and cons of going from a B16a2 to a B18B1? There has to be cons towards this swap and if I do this what does Honda-Tech recommend doing while Im doing the block swap?

The three guys i know back home doing LS/VTEC have had a lot of problems, namely oil leaks from the head, the larger bottom end is better for spool time, but with the work you would put into it, you wouldnt get as much as you think. why waste money on a ls vtec? i see two better options, the b16 vtec that you have, or just the b18b1. I myself prefer the b18, the absense of vtec makes tuning easier to the average guy, and the larger displacment with a good lift cam, you could make a whole lot of power. Or, just use the vtec b16, and get a semi laggy spool, until you hit vtec and then your rpms go through the roof due to a huge boost surge taking place.

An LsVTEC will have higher compression with stock pistons in it compared to a stock B16. I would be afraid to run much boost (+6lbs) on my LsVTEC since it had a stock B18B bottom end. The B18B blocks also don't like to be revved as high as the the B16.
A stock GSR motor with boost makes for a formidible setup and nicely streetable/reliable. The hp numbers are a lot nicer at the same boost levels than on a B16.
