Default B16A2 with high compression + nitrous?

Hello, friends. My name is Renato and I'm from Brazil. This is my first topic so, please, If I make any mistakes, just let me know, ok?

I'm preparing a B16A2 engine (from a Honda Civic Hatch VTi 1994) to be a big NA+Nitrous... I'll post more details and pics of the project soon. At the moment, we have the stock B16A block with a 1.87L custom Stroker with 84mm bore Wiseco pistons with temperature and friction coating, Maxi Light Crower Rods, 84.5mm Crower Stroke, complete 11,000RPM valvetrain from KMS (Honda-Performance), Block Girdle, 84mm Darton Sleeves MID, TWM Induction ITBs, AEM ECU, MSD everything, ARP Stud Kits, TODA Flywheel, JUN TYPE-4 Camshafts, high performance fuel, oil and water pumps, and etc. It will use ETHANOL (here in Brazil we have it in any gas station hehe). What I would like to ask is:

- Using 13.0:1 of compression and a progressive DIRECT PORT Nitrous Kit, how many nitrous HPs this engine will handle, just to have an idea of what to expect ? I know compression + nitrous is very dangerous. Because of this we will use this kind of nitrous Kit and everything forged...

- I'm using a Hytech Drag Racing 4x1 Header. Are there any better options today?

- How much power can I expect in this project without the Nitrous shot?

Sorry if I didn't put enought information here. Please ask me whatever necessary and sorry for my poor English!

Thank you all in advance!!

i made some eggplant for lunch, reminds me of true romance.

anyway, that's a good question, and i'm typing this instead of just "bump"

i know i wouldn't want to be near the engine bay when a rod comes shooting through the block.

i think you could run a big shot of nitrous. My bone stock b16a2 un tuned was on a 75shot every day for 6 months. till i broke a chip off one of my valves. i think that with your motor setup a 100 shot would be safe tunes ofcourse.

yea sounds like you are building the engine pretty well. i wouldnt have anything thoughts about the engine holding up. just as long as you HAVE A GOOD NITROUS TUNE!

I say f nitrous and invest that money in more build parts. The header you have is a great one.

What about intake manifold? What exhaust are you running? Intake?

If you havenn't done those it's definately time to open it up.

Nothing worse than a high compression motor than can't breathe.

I've always considered Nitrous to be like a hot girl with an std, you wanna do it but you're afraid of the consequences.

Sure, you could run n2o but are you willing to risk that sick build you have going on?

If that was my motor i would do up 2 a 150 shot. that motor setup you have can handle 600whp on boost(with lower compression) i dont see why it cant make 350whp or more on N20.

Thank you all for the answer... About what ppl asked:

- Exhaust = Hytech Drag Racing 4x1 Large Tubes
- Intake = TWM Induction Individual Throttle Bodies (52mm)
- Tuning = AEM

According to crower, the stroker itself can hold up to 800whp, but I think the block and Darton Sleeves can't...

the block and darton sleeves can. There are plenty of people making 700+whp on darton sleeves and a few making 800+whp.

As long as you have a good tuner i say do atleast a 150 shot. A progressive nitrous controller would be something nice to get also. You should go crazy and do like a 250 shot and see what it runs. ive never seen a honda with that high of a shot.

Not that I can say I have extensive nitrous experience, but with your setup on the build i believe it could handle the nitrous you want to put in(I would say the 100 shot would be just fine if you use it sparingly), just don't overdo it or you might get more than what you were asking for. Im sorry if i sound cautious, but im not one to risk my ride by overdoing things. but im sure that it could handle all you can throw at it

My main concern is about the high compression + nitrous combination... My tuner is very good and I'll do everything he says, but I would like to see others opinions about the project...
I think I'll use big shots of nitro ONLY on 1/8 and 1/4 mile, never for more than 10 seconds (I hope!! hehehe) The nitro kit will be DIRECT PORT (noszle?) and progressive controlled of course!

Thanks again for replying my doubts!

It should be a lot of fun. Just don't over-use it.

But it can be dangerous, right?

I'm thinking about using all the shots just on 1/8 and 1/4mile competitions... Daily, if I need for any reasons, I'll use the stage-1 70-100HP max, because I hope the All Motor will be very strong

WTF.

It's already built. He's just debating whether or not to run nitrous.
