Default b16a2 HEAD.. Need some info !

Getting the ECU chipped and planning to rev to 8.8-9k on a stock b16a2 HEAD

Not really sure if they can handle those revs.. btw I have a b20 bottom end ( b20v )

Should the Valves be replace to something like typeR valves because they are lighter and can handle higher revs? or would the stock valves be fine.

thx ahead for some info

id worry more about the bottom end. If its a stock B20 bottom youll be spinning those rods first trip to 9 (if it makes it that high).

its all in the vlave train and cams.
you can rev a stock bottom end to 9k if you have the right cams.
get hondata as well, the whole chipping the ecu things is garbage.

Type R intake valves are a weak link IMO. The dual valve springs would be safe around 8500 rpm.

After that all I can say is Good luck and:

Chipped P28 on Crome Pro FTW!

The valves should be fine. You can replace springs and such without removing the head just have air pressure holding valves up or use the string method.

B16 stock internals and you don't want to rev much over 8200 rpm

if you gonna rev up high

get some springs/retainers...for safety
you dont wanna brake them stock springs
and float your valves....

as for the redlining/revving hi...you do need to change your ECU..get chipped or something..

stock head is good up to 8k...but the risk is high..it all depends on how hard you drive your car....revving up to 8k once in a while is aight...but after 8.5k rpm and up,the power band of the stock camshafts are about the same, youll just gonna break your springs or whatever, youre just putting too much stress on the head, but if you put at least a typeR camshaft or stage 1 camshafts then, youll feel the difference...
dont waste your money on some crazy ****...

i wont talk anymore if you would read some more. getting his bottom end built and wanting to rev to 9k, on a chipped ECU. oooooooook, thats good advice. NOT!

dude, get good cams, and valve train, hondata S200, and your car will be fine. I promise if you listen to all these clowns on here your car wont get far.
Chipped ECU's are trash next to hondata.

someone please read this again.
1st he says "we have" like its his shop
2nd he says "you dont need to spend lots of money to go 10s"
can you believe this?
the guy he linked to does not have a stock ls motor, the bottom end is sleeved and the head is built.
you should read your own links first spoolinegsr, last time i checked, getting a head built and a block sleeved isnt cheap. your about a dummie!
