B16a2 evap solenoid removal problem
Hey guys
I have a civic with a B16A2 obd1.
I have removed the EVAP purge solenoid (i know there are many different types - mines mounts onto the back right corner of the I'M)
I removed it because i have an alloy fuel tank in the trunk with non standard fuel lines and it purges any unwanted fuel vapours to the atmosphere.
My problem is:
I removed the evap solenoid and the engine runs fine with no cel or anything, but it has a terrible hissing noise from the hole at the back of the I.M. where the solenoid used to be.
When i block the hole, the engine idle lowers to about 500rpm and it stalls.
Is this normal?
Should i just ignore the hissing noise?

Re: B16a2 evap solenoid removal problem
I've searched and found a couple of different reset procedures - Do you recommend i just adjust it with the idle adjustment screw?

Thanks very much. I have adjusted the idle now.
Should I leave the evap sensor plugged in or should I disconnect it?
