Please search. B16 swaps are as common as a cold. All of your questions, believe it or not, have been answered many, many times already.

You will need these parts from the Si:
-engine
-tranny
-ECU
-engine harness
-motor mounts
-driveshafts
-shift linkage
It has 160hp from the factory, and little more torque than your D16. It is a nice improvement from stock, but you need to rev the nuts off of it to go anywhere. Get a 1.8L if you want low-end.

Personally, I would take an LS over a B16 anyday. They're cheaper, they're still good on fuel thanks to the longer geared transmission, and it will actually FEEL like a new motor. The B16 doesn't feel much different from your D16 until VTEC engages, while the LS has a much more useable powerband for the road.

Re: b16a2 in an ek hatch
the past two weeks ive been collecting the parts i need for this, and im going to start my swap on tuesday. ill post up my results afterward. i have a 96 hatch, and im changing all the wiring to the si's so i can be obd2b for BAR purposes. i noticed you're in Florida so that wont matter for you and it would be best to use your original harness. i originally wanted to go with a b18b1 but i found a good deal on the b16a2 swap. ill be sure to let you know once i have it in the car and running how it compares to the stock d16y7

I respect your opinion since you've personally owned both...but it is debatable as to which engine is "faster" in a Civic chassis. I've driven both and feel that the LS takes the prize. Someone reading this may post about how the B16 is faster while another will post about how the LS is faster. The point is, everyone's opinion will be inconsistent because there are MANY other factors to take into consideration.

Re: b16a2 in an ek hatch
So you disagree with my opinion that the LS is better in a road car (even though we both agree about its powerband) and back it up with statements about how fast your B16 is...

Re: b16a2 in an ek hatch
so what you guys think then and is itworth it to spend 800 on a 95 ls complete swap? or should i go ls vtec? ls block with full type r internals and stock b16 head with a valve job and new valve seals n guides. itll be 500(head) 300(block) and prob like 400(b16 tranny) but i hear ls-v is very unreliable? how true is that.

Re: b16a2 in an ek hatch
I agree with you man, the LS feels faster because you have a lot of low down tq and that gives you the feeling of being pushed in your seat. It gives you the illusion of going fast but if you watch the speedo your not going as fast as you feel. I have a jdm b16 in my ek coupe and it hauls *** but then again i have a bunch of goodies on it..but when i just got it, it still moved and the shorter gearing helps out a LOT! But as we all said under 4500 its slow...haha
