b16a2, b18c1, or b18c5
im planning 2 blueprint an engine for my 98 civic hx coupe in my garage sum time soon hopefully...jus wundering any suggestions on which is better/ easier 2 build up and which is best for turbo, i hear its the b18c1 but i hear its compression gets2 high...any suggestions??

You have no idea what blueprinting means, do you? Go ahead and read the threads at the top of the forum and don't ask another question or purchase a single goddamned thing until you do. Pay special attention to the "What swaps are availible for my Civic" thread.
Also:
1.) there's no such thing as "too high compression" for turbocharging.
2.) None is easier to build up as they share 95% of the same parts if not more.
3.) "Better" is the shittiest descriptor you could find. Tell us what you'll be doing with the car and we'll let you know what you need to think when you hear the word "better".

I'd say that they are all of about equal difficulty to work on. But, since you mentioned boost, throw the B18C5 right out the window, go with the B18C1. At least that's what I'd do.

Compression and turbocharging are fine together. 9.0 : 1 comp and 12.0 : 1 comp are both fine as long as they're both tuned. The tune determines the security of an engine, not the static compression.

I'm just saying, why should you spend the extra money on a type r motor, when he's going to "blueprint" the motor, which I was assuming he meant doing some internal work.

"Blueprinting" means pulling everything apart, measuring and gathering the specific weights and tolerances of everything and putting it back together. Basically, it's something that ricers say they're going to do after they play Gran Turismo and find out that they picked up 4 hp
Balancing is where you go from blueprinting. That is to say, once you know the specific weights and tolerances you make changes to the conrods and pistons and crank and flywheel to make everything as close in reciprocating mass as possible. This is where you pick up power and smoothness.

so much hatred in threads. just answer the guys question man. peeps need to chill out. but to the guy... it really depends how much money you have. you dont want to have some shity budget swap with a ebay turbo? gotta mention how much u are willing to spend. my suggestion to you, since i feel that you are a lil new. Get the b18c1, i/h/e and i garentee that is enough power for you. Evenutally youll want more...so then you can upgrade to some buddy club,ctr,itr cams for additional gains.
i had a jdm gsr swap in my 97 hx...converted to obd1 and chipped the ecu to vtec at 55k and redline at 86k. I just had a sr intake and everytime i stepped on it it threw a fat smile on my face. hmotorsonline.com is a very reliable place to buy your motor... one of the best.

u got ur engine to engauge varible timing at 55k? lil high isnt it since most cars engauge varible timing at 5.5k, wow 86kredline smoke the **** outta those 22k redlining hyabusas

Holy Moly. HT is flooded with morons. RPM does not ultimately equal more power. In a nutshell - Honda's must achieve a higher RPM for efficiency (max torque output) but going to redline or exceeding it doesn't do anything else but wear down your engine more. There's ideal switchpoints, ideal conditions. "Blueprint" that. LOL.
