No. They generally don't. Depending on what kinda of mods you are running, might contribute to the burning of oil (i.e. Turbo.)

Fyi. A healthy properly maintained engine will not burn too much oil.

Vtec engines DO tend to burn oil, I never said that they burn a lot, but definitely more than a normal engine. I had a prelude that would go through about a quart for every 1,500 miles (stock except for a k&n air filter and cat-back and I didn't drive it hard very often). And now I have a b16a2 in my 97 hatch and it burns about a half of a quart of oil for 2,000 miles (stock except for k&n air filter and its driven conservatively). Maybe it was just my cars but I've heard MANY people bitch about their vtec engines burning oil.

yea... even if you drive moderately they do.

(Unlike my dad's VVT-i CAMRY y0! VVT-I POWAAZZ!! w00t! loses 1 quart every 4K miles =P)

For any owners, I would suggest checking your oil level every 1,000 miles and filling it up b4 you oil changes.
Best thing you can do for your car.
