B16a1 Questions
Wuddup fellas,
Fixin to get a 89 civic with a b16a1 motor, but there are a few problems involved; no a/c, p/s and needs the si harness. Are these easy fixes to make or somewhat complicated. I'm assuming that for the a/c and p/s all I would need is a new compressor and power steering pump, right? Not to sure about how to get the si harness or how much it cost. Can anyone give me some help here?

Re: B16a1 Questions
Nice
We got a pick and pull around here. I was also lookin on ebay for the parts, but wasn't sure how to look for it. Searching under b16 gets you nowhere and I wasn't sure if the 1.6l they have listed refers to the d16 engine or both of them. I'm tradin a guy for my 97 eclipse, just dropped a nice 420a in it, but I've got honda in my blood and b16s in my dreams.
Anyone know a place in particular to get the si harness I need

Re: B16a1 Questions
for the 89 civic you'd want to check out the civic/crx forum, one down from this one. as far as the harness goes, if the car isn't an si to begin with, don't waste your time and money buying one, as it wont plug in correctly and half the sensors wont work. you have to use the stock style of harness specific to the vehicle, and if necessary convert it to MPFI as the 88-91 styles (accept crx hf, crx/civic si, and civic ex) came dpfi (throttle body injection, two injectors), and then run the extra wires needed for the sensors on the b16. as far as power steering goes, you wont really need it, the cars are hella light and it's almost not noticeable. ac, i think you can use a del sol b16 or a cr-v mounting bracket with the stock ac parts. ac is easy to install in ef's, i've done it. search around, welcome, and enjoy your car
