b16a1 help please
ok so let me start off by saying im just now getting into honda swaps an i had a few civics in the past but this is my first real swap car. i bought this car a 90 integra LS and it had a b16a swap when i got it it needed alot of work ran so bad and was overheating alot!. well i fixed the overheating without a problem turned out to be a cracked hose .then i fixed the horrid miss simple tune up cap..rotor..plugs..wires..etc. now im lost i dont know what is causeing this but it starting to over heat again. put water in it an 2 days later nothing at all in overflow or radiator..fill it back up shes good for a few more days then same thing happens. i cant pinpoint a leak anywere either odd?. also hoses seem to get hot like burn u hot just on normal driving even if temp gauge says normal. thats the first problem . second i cant realy tell if v-tec is kicking in in my 97 ex with the d16y8 u could hear v-tec so nicely it was sexy . now with this integra with full exhaust i cant really tell if it is sounds nothing like the d16y8 when v-tec engages .. can you guys please help me please thax

Re: b16a1 help please
ok, over heating maybe caused by your thermostat sticking shut, or possibly air in the system. as for not being able to hear vtecHHHHHH, could be solenoid, or oil pressure, or if you have a stock air box, and a really insanely dirty air filter it's just not as loud as your expecting it to be. but if it really isn't engaging, don't keep reving you car to 8 grand on low cam. not a good thing.

lol vtecHHH i like someone with a sence of humor any way about the rev-limit thing guy told me when he rebuilt it. it no longer has a rev limiter idk **** doesnt stop after 8k lol an its all cold-air intake so ill check that . and i heard about the oil sending uint thing but is there a way to check and see if it is good or bad realy? o and another thing i just went out an looked at it an the wire its a greenish color coming off the solenoid is cut idk what this is 4 but its goes from the solenoid to the oil sending unit i think thats what its leading to

Re: b16a1 help please
so your vtecHH doesn't have a revlimiter? ok that's not ideal, in any situation. don't rev it stock past 8500, your taking chances after that. what was it tuned on to "not have a rev limiter" it's not a carb. and whoever rebuilt it kinda sounds sketchy. take it to honda, or an actual good performance shop that knows honda's, it's probably a safe bet
