just to help you out, your going to get super bashed, like relatively hard as you obviously havent searched. the combination your questioning about is called an LS/VTEC, the benefits are that you have the extra torque of the 1.8litre with the high revving better flowing head and vtec which is a nice difference.. your more detailed answers will be in the links once you search. Dont for one minute think you can just add the head to it, you need certain parts and some general know how, also you will want to be safe and somewhat build or balance the bottom end to rev what youde like with that head. im a noob so there is my explanation have a nice day.

The B16 (P30 or even PR3) head is able to make more power, albeit at a higher RPM, than the stock B18A/B head can make with the larger 1.83L block.

I have an ls vtec setup. I enjoy it. lol If your thinking of going that route, just make sure it is done right. Everyone who usually does it doesnt put it together the right way. They think they could just throuw the head on.

youll need a ls-vtec kit, ie one from GoldenEagle.....makes life alot easier, there are lots of write ups on this topic would have just been easier for you to take the 3 peoples advice and do a search for ls-vtec. since oyu getting all that work done, shouldn't be any issue to send in the head to do the necessary plug etc etc that needs installed, aside from that the kit is pretty much complete and directions should be easy to follow.
