looking into doing a swap...im not wanting to spend alot of money, so whats the best swap for the money?

I've been debating this for a few days, I decided on the B18B, b16's don't really interest me drove my buddy's and it felt like a d series.. By the way good luck finding someone to help you on this site, they'll most likely just lock your thread and say search noob, but you can't always find the answer your looking for...

What are your plans down the road? Keep it naturally aspirated? Possibly turbo?

It kind of funny, buthe the B16B caost 3 times the amount. Here's what you gain for the extra maony, maybe it'll help you decide:

- it uses the strong P72 block, same as the GSR and Ttpe R
- has a destroked crank that it fully counter balanced, good for high rpm, its about 20% more stable after 8000rpm than a B16A
- Type R head uses larger and lighter valves, has a mild polish job, and the best oem b series cams oyt there
- the tranny has a 4.7 final drive and LSD
- the rotating assemlby has high comp pistons that are coated for less friction, and the rods are made of a higher chromiume contant making them stronger, flywheel is a couple lbs lighter
- 62mm throttle body and larger intake manifold

Now you have some food for thought

I would pick the B18B over the b16A. It has more torque and will be more usable and fun for daily driving, if not in many cases just a bit faster. Put on a low geared tranny, and you'll get even more performance.

Classic n00b response. When I was a n00b, I made threads (even put in the wrong forum in one instance) that all could have been answered by simply searching. How you use the search function is key. Start with Archieved content first, that'll almost always get you best results. Enter a few simple key words, example, today a guy asked "what e-brake cable do I use on my 5 lug swapped EG?". I typed in "5 lug EG" in the search for window and got an answer, instead of No Results Found if I had used more key words.

Well, most people on this forum are like that because these questions are asked at least 10 times a week, and the fact that there's a sticky at the top of the '92-'00 forum named "What Swaps Are Available For My Civic?" doesn't help out much either.

But to answer your question, I'd go with the B18 more than likely.
