And when you put somebody in your sig, make sure they wrote it...loser. Why would you assume things about me over the internet like you seen me before??...maybe what you said about me is the first thing that came to your mind because thats what you are. Is talking shiet about other people gonna be your defense about stupid *** ignorant tech?

Re: (vancoland)
Let me say something about the JDM Second-Gen 170hp engine versus a good old US-Spec B16A2 from the 99-00 Civic Si.
My wife had a B16A2 with i/h/e and a rechipped P28 ECU (converted the engine to OBD1 this way) and it dynoed 143whp, 102ft-lbs. of torque.
A friend of mine had a JDM second-gen "170hp" swap in his hatch with the exact same ECU, but no intake and a worse exhaust. He dyno'd 151whp with 102ft-lbs. of torque.
So does the JDM engine really make more power? In this case it did, but is it a case of a freak JDM motor and an average B16A2?
Oh and lastly, and I really hate this ****:
THE OBD1 JDM SWAPS ARE NOT "SIRII" SWAPS!!! PRE-OBD SWAPS ARE NOT "SIRI" SWAPS!!! "SIRII" IS A TRIM LEVEL IN JAPAN THAT MEANS THE CHASSIS/BODY HAS EXTRA OPTIONS, LIKE COLOR-MATCHED MOLDINGS, ETC. ETC. REFER TO THESE ENGINES AS FIRST-GEN (PRE-OBD) AND SECOND-GEN (OBD1-2)!!!

also i dont know if this makes a diffence but when i chipped my ecu for uberdata, all of the resistors and and capacitors where in there and it was done with the same factory peices. all i had to do was remove the old chip and put in the socket. also there was a second board wired to the ecu, but i think that it's for the climate control. there is so many little extra things like this that add to the performance of the jdm b16

The compression ratio increase sure can't hurt, did they both have cats?
As to this stupid argument about quoting each other in sigs, I wish mods would come in and delete the retarded argument that should have been over PM's. Further quoting people in sigs is stupid I wish there was a petition to make it stop.

Yes they both had stock Civic cats on them.

looks like i ALMOST got it right... those and the B16a4 are almost never heard of... who gets their swaps from europe anyway? i have yet to even see a B16A1 block stamp.
