Default B16A VS B16 SIR2

I've been researching swap options. the sir2 is $600 more. Is the sir2 worth the extra cash for the 10hp and 5lb ft tq. I would most likely be boosting it with either a jackson racing sc or a low boost turbo kit. Looking to keep the internals stock. If I go with a SC. what about the jackson racing race header? I searched and found no info on the header as far as how it performs. found info. about the kamikaze and dc both on a gsr.

b16a sir2 is for obd1 and 96-00 is for obd2 cars
your b16a is obd0 so if your car is 92-00 get a b16a sir2

I have a 95 hatch. I've been going back an forth about what swap to do. trying to research and not ask some of the more common questions.

is 2400 a good price for a Sir2 with tranny, linkage, ecu, axles. with lsd 2900.

ok the big dif. on these engine is b16a1 is a cable tranny set up and the b16a2 is a hydrolic tranny. your tranny mounts are already made for hydrolic tranny. you would have to also buy a custom cable tranny mounting kit if you choose the b16a1.

and b16a2 i can do 2600 for the swap with lsd shipped to a resudential or business ,address that can unload the engine. engine, ecu. harness, tranny, shiftlinkage, Axles<used add $50 for new axles> and lsd.

are B16's your only choice? Remember theres no replacement for displacement (hint hint b18b good for turbo too!)..

I'm just trying to research. I like the idea of a b18. Dont know if it's worth the extra cost. I was also toying with the idea of a sohc vtec with a greedy turbo. These engines seem to be fairly cheap and with a turbo can beat upon na b16's an b18's with bolt ons for less cash.

You're saying more displacement is better but you only went up 0.2liters? H22's and k24's have much more displacement.

i got the b16a2 and swapped it for the jdm b16a sir2 with lsd and now i regret it... if i had to do it again i would go b18b and turbo it for the cost of the b16a sir2 and i would have more torque and hp...

i was merely trying to stay within his price range. he was looking at b16s and an LS is comparable to both, even cheaper.

for headers....get a set of 98+ ITR headers. they make more power than the dc's and others. i forget where i saw it, but it was significant enough to pay a little extra for the true jdm headers.
