B16a Turbo?

Default B16a Turbo?

i have a 1992 jdm del sol and am wondering if turboing this engine stock is a good idea? also what is a worth while set up for this specific engine. any input is appreciated.

um, did they really have 92 sols there? was that the first year?


and yes, a stock b16 can handle boost reliably. im planning to do this as well, only until i can afford to build the motor.

just dont push it, find a reputable tuner, and tell them to be conservative.

yea man it was the first year of production, but would you have any reccomendations as to what kind of turbo and amount of boost to be running on a daily driven car?

Rev hard, peekboost, full race their all good companies so just do your research and find a kit that suits your needs...i wouldnt go over 10lbs on the stock motor just to keep it safe

depending on the condition of your motor, 300 whp is a good reliable goal to shoot for. spend some time in the forced induction section and you should have whatever question answered for you, if you havent already read the FAQ in that section

Yeah, sols debuted in '92 except in the USA.

but anyways yes I can handle some boost, just don't over due it.

you should read the article HONDATUNING did with the b series motor all stock other then 9.1:0 comp pistons. What the really relied on was Prefect tunning. I suggest you read it over.
