B16a swap bogging???
I recently swapped a b16a into my 93 coupe and ever since I first drove it I has been bogging. Let me try to elaborate. From a stop if I take off at a 2k+ rpms it shifts and drive fine until I reach a cruising speed. So let say I take off and start cruising at 55 the will then start bogging slightly, after that if I try to speed up the will bog and then dash forward. On the other hand, if I take off at a low rpm the will be sluggish until I come to a stop and take off at a high rpm. When the car is sluggish the car sounds deeper in tone. I dont know if this is connected to my previously stated problem, but if I hit vtec I can hear the motor switching over but theres no pick-up. I get nothing but a cloud of smoke. Yesterday I noticed that theres a minor oil leak coming from one of the cam seals. Could the oil leak be related? Any help is greatly appreciated.

change your fuel filter and pcv valve it might be clogged, thats one way to trouble shoot, also what fuel line are you using(the fuel line that runs from the filter to the fuel rail.) because if your using the factory civic, the openings for the fuel to flow through arent large enough. if so, you will have to use that from a del sol/integra so the engine can get the proper fuel.

huh, yeah the fuel line came with the b16. And I am using the filter that was on the car before the swap and it worked just fine on my d16.

Have you checked your cat out lately? When they get clogged the problem you speak of can happen. I'm also assuming your not throwing any codes?

sounds like it could be your timing too..recheck your timing i had a problem like that before too...tight when you wanna accelerate the engine chugs then it'll start to pick up right?...if it dose that im sure its just a timing problem.
