Default B16A SIR II in 95 DX coupe won't start...Help

I recently got a B16A SIR II complete Change over From Hmotorsonline.com and its all in, wired for VTEC, new Battery, cap and rotor, plugs, plug wires,. It will crank but not start . so i stuck a screw driver in a plug wire and held it to the finder and no spark. So what do you guys think?

also could it have something to do with the banjo fitting on the fule line that goes from the filter to the rail i tryed putting a little gas in each cylinder befor i found out about the no spark?......HELP

Check your or replace your coil. Get a helms, hanes, chilton. It's gonna tell you the resistance that you should have. If you have the right resistance then check to see that the coil is getting voltage. The coil as you probably know is in the distributor. quick note I understand that it is better in the long run to replace your entire distributor rather than just the coil. about $80 for a coil and $150 for a remanufactured distributor, hope this helps

sounds like its the coil, call steve and he will take care of you. i had the same problem with a customer's engine i got from him. bad coil, he next day'd one to me and it was running like a champ. (actually clicked a 13.7 in a full interior, I/H stock exhaust civic coupe)

Your fender is painted you won't get a spark. Take out the whole sparkplug with a wire, and hold it to the engine block while someone cranks your engine.

In most cases it's either coil, or timing jumped that causes engine not to start.

I'm having the same problem. At least it sounds like the same deal. Is the coil a common problem with b16's?

Fucken ignitor, coil, main relay, and bad timing are the most common problems of why a honda motor won't start.

You won't be able to check ingnition timing if the car doesn't start. You can move the dizzy around while someone is trying to start the car, usually if the car doesn't start and it sounds like it's about to start when you move the dizzy around, it means your timing (timing belt) prolly is off by a tooth.

Check your timing and test the ingnitor, coil, and main relay before replacing the dizzy.

Alright, my problem is the distributor, I swap mine with my friends and the car fired right up. Now my question is, is there a rebuild kit I can get to make mine work or would the price be to close to the price of a reman dizzy, to be worth while?

Not worth it unless you pick up another distributor and use the internals out of it like the coil, ignitor, etc. Even that it's used.

That's what I thought. Parts store in town here quoted me $160(I think) for reman and $250 for a new one.
