b16a really high idle then cuts off
hello honda-tech. i dont usually post any questions because i know how to search but my problem is pretty specific with a few different variables.
a little background on my car.a 94 civic cx hatch with a b16a swap. i bought it about a year ago and have never been able to drive it due to many problems. i bought it turbo but decided to remove everything due to it being a piece of crap. it is back to n/a status now.
over the past year ive replaced just about everything including.. distributor, plugs, plug wires, header, intake manifold, iacv, fuel pump, fuel filter, ecu, and fuel injectors.( the injectors i had originally were dsm 440s. required a resister box.. replaced them with 240cc stock civic injectors and deleted the resister box..
id like to first know if i deleted the resister box correctly.
what i did was de-pin all the wires and plug them in to an 8 pin plug with the cap that connects all of the wires(factory honda plug) alright on to the problem..
i have a very high idle( about 3 grand)
after idling really high for about 3 minutes the engine cuts off.
(i originally though that it cut off because my injectors were too big and it was drowning out the motor but i replaced the injectors with stock and it still does it..) could it be that i still have a jumper wire in my ecu plug? just a thought idk..
also when i try to set my timing i run out of adjustment on the distributor before it gets all the way to the correct mark.( its not far off but i think it might be contributing to my high idle. i dont know what to do about it.
i think that should do it.. thank you in advance for your help. im tired of having problems and as much as i love working on it, id really like to drive it. so please help me if you can. thanks

No the ecu not the same from when it was turbo. I replaced it.
It's a chipped p30 with a stock tune.

Re: b16a really high idle then cuts off
well i know why it cuts off after so long now. its because im fouling my plugs so bad it cant get spark.. i believe its just fuel because all i have to do is take them out and clean them up. and put them back in and starts right up until they get saturated again. please help.. ive looked for vacuum leaks and came up with none so ive ruled that out for the high idle..
ive also tried a different ecu and have the exact same problem with both.. im out of ideas.

with the set up you had befor everything swapped. u probly had a 255 pump an if you dont have a fpr could be dumping way to much fuel reason plugs fouling. also do you kno if your injectors are staying open an causing to much fuel to where it fouls the plugs
you want your fuel psi at 35psi and do you have both o2 sensors one might be bad or both an making it run super rich

No the fuel pump has been replaced with a stock replacement.
And as far as the injectors I'll put them on my list of things to check tomorrow.
Along with my map sensor and o2 sensor. Thanks for the response. I need all the help I can get.
