B16A overheating.

B16A overheating.
About 6 months ago I purchased a '94 Del Sol VTEC. Since then, it's overheated a couple times. I'm a little puzzled because there hasnt been any obvious signs mechanical wear; It doesnt blow any smoke, it's only overheated twice in 6 months of driving. I can do 3000 miles of hard driving on 10-30 oil and not lose a drop of oil. It's impressive. The overheating worries me, though. The first time I thought it was a fluke, but now, I'm not so sure. I wasn't really doing any crazy driving when it overheated, so, I just don't know........... Both times this problem occurred I flushed the radiator for like 30 minutes, so I'm pretty sure it's not a sludge build up in the block. it has 40,000 miles on it.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

or you could ghetto rig it and have the fan always on. but replace the thermostat, those are notorious for going out on hondas. they go out, and stay shut, so coolant is not circulating.

The motor takes an extremely long time to warm up, too. We're talking like 8-12 minutes of normal driving until the needle comes off the C (cold).. I know this is unusual, so I think the thermostat may be stuck at the half way point.. what do you think?
