b16a motor into my 97 civic ex - different engine post mounts?
Looking at swapping in a b16a motor into my 97 civic ex. I have a question about what post mount to use. I don't have on on the motor but a new one is like $90. I have a 2 post mount..so the dual post mount the bolts to engine block needs to have 2 post and not 3 like most b series motors. Can I use one from a b18 Ls motor or is that different fro. The one on a b16?

O don't have this post...I never asked about my d series one. I know that one won't work. I asked if one from a b18 Ls would work with my b16 or are they different

No it won't fit but if you take a look you'll see why you need a post mount with 2 thread studs on there. Thats my point.

If the b18 Ls one has only 2 post and not the 3rd bolt why wouldn't it work..I don't have one off my d series motor either car didn't have a d series motor...this is in a race car I bought the shell and built it all

B18 is a 3 post mount so it can't be used. You need a '99 - '00 Si post mount or '92 - '00 JDM Civic with B16. '97 - '01 CR-V also bolts up, but it will drop the engine down on that side a bit.
