Default B16A Install: Professional or Do it yourself

Just an opinion question, seeing as how I've never done it. Is it easy enough to install a B16A-2 into a 94 coupe yourself, or should you just drop the money and have it done professionally?

if you need to ask, i'd hafta say dont do it yourself. next thing we know, you'll be asking what wire goes where and such. save yourself some trouble if you dont have the knowledge. either that or do ALOT of researching and be prepared.

b16 into a coupe is kinda straight forward

Well Dependeing how Confident you are in yourself and friends I say Do it yourself (DIY)

But if it makes you sleep better at night and fell safer by letting a pro Do it then Do it.

But asking honda-tech most of us here will tell you to do DIY IMO!!!!!

Save ton of money and learn alot from one Swap. But your going to need quite of bit of tools and patience.

Either Way its Fine, if your confident in yourself Then go ahead, Or pay a Pro to do it Either you fine Dude

So true ^

If you have to ASK, dont do it at all.....

If you dont have like alot of nice tools too dont do it.

Your better off paying a decent shop to do it, sometimes they have warrantys and if anything is messed up you can go back and be like hey "wtf?" and they will more than likely fix the problem....

Dont do it yourself if you have to ask thats what i think

With the money you save in installation, you can get yourself an intake, exhaust, header, and some other bolt-ons.

well, if you do plan on doing it yourself by the end of this thread, here's some tips:

Take the motor out from the bottom.

Install the new motor from the bottom.
(No cherry picker needed. just have something to roll the motor on, ie. a creeper)

drain all fluids before starting

use the right tools for the job.

don't take shortcuts

change timing belt, water pump, clutch, rear and front main seals, etc before installing into the car. it will be easy to access them with the engine out of the car.

that's all i can think of right now. it really doesnt take more than one person to do a swap, but it is helpful. i've always done things myself because im picky and only like to do things my way. my first swap was an H22 in an accord, i did that myself and it was pretty easy to install...
